Credit Counseling
The Mesquite Group offers you the convenience of entering your personal financial information online. Your information is kept strictly confidential and will only be viewed by the counselor assigned to your case.
Before you begin, have the following information readily available:
- Your total monthly income from all sources
- A list of your monthly expenses
- A list of your current debts and other financial obligations
- A list of your assets and their values
1. Fill out the registration form, providing your name, address and contact information.
2. Complete the payment information.
Counseling for individual $30
Counseling for couple $40
Services are available for free or at a reduced rate based on the client's ability to pay. If you believe you are entitled to receive a counseling session free of charge, please call one of our Administrators at the numbers in the bar at left.
3. After registering, follow the instructions to the Financial Information Form. When you have completed the form, click on the submit button. You will receive a return email verifying we have received your Financial Information Form.
4. You are required to speak with one of our counselors to complete your counseling session and receive a certificate. After you submit the form, please contact us by phone and/or email to schedule a telephone appointment with a counselor to complete your session.
The Mesquite Group counselors are required to have one or more of the following credentials:
- a bachelor's degree
- experience in teaching or counseling in the area of money or financial management
- certification from an authorized organization or institute
You have 45 days from the day of registration to finish your session or course. If you do not finish within that time your enrollment will expire. Your registration is then cancelled and you forfeit your registration fee. If you wish to complete the session or course after that time you must register again and pay a new registration fee.
Revenue for The Mesquite Group, Inc., comes primarily from the payments clients make for financial counseling and education. Officers, administrators, counselors and teachers regularly donate their time to support the clients who demonstrate an inability to pay for our services.
The Mesquite Group does not belong to or subscribe to any credit bureau. The Mesquite Group does not design, implement or participate in debt management plans for our clients. Therefore, the credit counseling and financial management and education experience is not reported on an individual's credit report.
The Mesquite Group does not pay nor does it receive fees or other consideration for the referral of clients.
